Jack had a baby tooth, that had seen better days. It was old. It was tired. It had bitten into a few too many apples, and cheeseburgers…
As a family, we decided we should pull the tooth.
Lily manned the video camera, I manned the still camera, and Jake did the dirty work. Avery pouted because he wasn’t the center of attention…
I don’t know where my husband learned to pull teeth…or what kind of tortuous childhood he had, but, he kept just jamming the tooth forward and back, trying to loosen it right out of the boy’s head.
*Did you hear Jake say, “It didn’t hurt…you’re not even bleeding.” It’s a principle we live by in our home. If there is no blood…it is physically IMPOSSIBLE for there to be pain…SO QUIT YOUR BITCHING!*
Jack began to squeal, and I offered to put him out of his misery, and yank the damn thing out myself…
*Even the dog was in on the action…it was truly, a family affair!*
And in a matter of minutes…perhaps even seconds…the boy had one less tooth in his head, and his father was schooled in more humane ways to extract a lower incisor!!

Love this post!!
I also loved listening to Lilly's commentation ( ?? not sure if that's a real word?) throughout the whole process. But what I thought was hilarious was hearing Lilly, who never speaks to the outside world, miss quiet thang, say " Dude, seriously, your high." Ha! Made me laugh out loud :)
Awwww....what a big boy! Even though my desktop doesn't let me view the videos (lame!), the pictures say a lot! He looks happy! Like he accomplished something!! lol
I'll have to check the videos out later on the netbook.
ROFL, JES!!! i didn't even hear that!!! i've watched that video 20 times, and i never noticed that she said, "dude, seriously, you're high!" that's HILARIOUS!!!!!!!! she is so funny and witty, but, you have to be a fly on the wall to see it!!
kimmy - he was so proud! the accomplishment of it TOTALLY made up for the torture that jake put him through!
So that's what a family does without TV, huh?? LOL.
That was really cute! Good pullin' MOM!
The pride on your boys face made me smile.
Oh. My. Gosh. I was seriously cringing the entire time Jake was trying to wiggle the tooth out of Jack's head! I think the look on my face was of pure horror, lol.
But way to go Nikki!
I do not know how you pulled that tooth out. I am certain that will not be on my list of motherly duties.
I love how excited the dang dog got when you pulled it out! Haha!
GREAT photos!
I couldn't bring myself to watch the videos. I hated it when my students would come up to me pushing around one of their teeth with their little tongues. cringe! I'm with Robin. I am adding teeth pulling to the list of things I will not be doing as a mom!
Thanks for your sweet comment/invitation. I'll talk it over with the hubs and see if we can work it out to be there.
Ouch! Glad he lost his tooth, though!
Poor Jack! the torture! I love how he keeps throwing himself on the floor. That is such a boy thing! Glad it came out ok in the end!
